Uptown is one of five neighborhood areas that comprise the city’s North Side Lakefront, along with Lincoln Park and Lakeview to the south, and Edgewater and Rogers Park to the north.  The building is less than one block from Marine Drive which separates Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan to the east from the built-up areas of the city to the west.

Uptown has a rich cultural history and remains a major entertainment destination.  Much of this entertainment activity is clustered around the intersection of Lawrence and Broadway, including such live music venues as the Riviera, Aragon Ballroom and historic Green Mill.  It is also located two blocks east of the Wilson CTA station.
